MAINTENANCE & CARE

Proper maintenance and care will help ensure your T. Morton floor always looks its best and that your investment will continue to appreciate in value. Just follow these simple suggestions:

~ Vacuum (no beater bars or hard heads), sweep or dust mop once a week or more
~ Wipe up spills and tracked-in dirt immediately

~ Periodically thoroughly clean with a product made especially for your selected finish

~ Never clean or wet mop with water

~ Never apply wax to a urethane-coated floor

~ Never use ammonia-based cleaners, acrylic finishes, wax-based products, detergents, bleach, polishes, oil soap, abrasive cleaning soaps or acidic materials like vinegar

~ Use interior and exterior doormats at entrances

~ Use area rugs (no solid rubber or vinyl backing) at pivot points and high-traffic areas

~Don’t damage your floor with tap shoes or shoes with rocks, exposed nails or gravel protruding from the soles

~Avoid walking on floor with spike-heeled shoes

~Keep pets’ nails trimmed

~Don’t roll or slide heavy objects on your floor (Note: carpet and cardboard do not adequately protect against surface compression scratches)

~Use furniture leg protector pads

~Replace hard, narrow furniture rollers with wide rubber ones

~Maintain relative humidity at 35-55%

~Protect your floor from direct sunlight with curtains or UV-resistant film
